 Welcome to our School
From high above Tunbridge Wells, on a grey July day brightened only by the luminous tabards on the backs of the teachers, comes a faint, waspish drone. Necks crane, eyes squint, fingers point. The Helicopter has arrived to visit Year 2 and the whole school are invited to watch!

Dear Parents and Carers

Welcome to our website.

If your child is joining us at St John’s Church of England Primary School for the first time, we welcome you as new parents. If you already have a child at the school, we are pleased to renew the very positive links between us.

St John''s Primary School is a Voluntary Controlled Church of England School situated on the outskirts of Tunbridge Wells.  Christian values are at the heart of all we do and our Christian ethos is very strong.  We have strong links with our parent Church of St John''s and enjoy the excellent relationship we have with them.

Everything we do here at St John’s is for your child’s benefit. We believe that every child is an individual, and so we try to develop individual talents and personalities, as well as stressing the importance of self-discipline and independence.  Our children are encouraged to fully participate in all school life has to offer them.

In February 2013 Ofsted judged us to be a good school.  In the report they confirm that "standards reached by all pupils at the end of Year 6 are high compared to those reached by pupils in other schools".  We are pleased that they judged our school to be good in all four of the key inspection areas:- achievement of pupils, quality of teaching, behaviour and safety of pupils and leadership and management. However, we are not complacent and will continue to develop and improve the quality of provision for our children to make learning irresistible to them. Click here to see the full report.

The information on this website is correct at the time of publication and is designed to provide you with information about our school, and what we have to offer your child.

We hope to work together closely with you, and we rely on your support and co-operation as your child moves through our school.

I am always happy to talk with parents, so please do not hesitate to make an appointment to see me. You will be most welcome.
